Alessi Tableware

Alessi, founded in 1921 in Omegna, Italy, began as a metal workshop crafting brass and silver sheetware. Over the decades, it evolved into a powerhouse of Italian design, blending artistry with everyday function. In the 1950s and '60s, Alessi gained fame for its refined stainless-steel tableware, but it was the 1970s that transformed the brand—when Carlo Alessi’s son, Alberto, turned to world-renowned architects and designers like Ettore Sottsass, Philippe Starck, and Michael Graves.

These collaborations produced iconic, often playful objects—like the whistling “Bird Kettle” and the “Juicy Salif” citrus squeezer—that blurred the lines between sculpture and utensil. Alessi became known as the "dream factory," creating tableware that was not just functional, but emotionally engaging. Each piece told a story, elevating the dining experience into an aesthetic event.

Today, Alessi continues to challenge conventions, merging tradition with innovation. Its tableware isn’t just about eating—it’s about connecting design, culture, and emotion around the table.
